=============================================================
In the heart of one of the Southeast’s
oldest yet fastest growing counties, the City of Springfield offers
a unique blend of hometown hospitality, rich regional
history and
modern day convenience. Just north of both Savannah and Rincon, Springfield serves as the county seat of Effingham County and a
vital part of its heritage. Its distinction as a City of Ethics and
State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification of its police
department readily illustrate Springfield’s commitment of excellence
to both its citizens and its county.
Springfield’s Main Street winds its way through storefronts that
years ago provided patrons with hitching posts for horses and
carriages. Historic homes with wide, welcoming porches perfect for
family gatherings peek from behind stately, century-old oak trees.
Quiet streets wrap around ball fields and park swings while the
original Courthouse and other historical structures still stand
proudly nearby as reminders of our town’s early beginnings.
At the heart of our town, you’ll find a relaxed way of life. There’s
a sense of escaping to a time when local business owners still greet you by name and evening strolls along quiet sidewalks with your
family aren’t a thing of the past. Most of all, you’ll find a place
where family, faith and neighborly spirit serve as cornerstones of
the community. A place where what’s close to your heart still
matters.
